Jay Maidment is a unit stills photographer with almost three decades on set, covering four Bond films and more than a dozen Marvel titles. He is a member of the Society of Motion Picture Still Photographers (SMPSP) and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA).

Jay began his career photographing television documentaries and dramas. In 1997 the established unit photographer Keith Hamshere invited him to step in as his replacement on Tomorrow Never Dies, and Jay quickly learnt the craft of working on a major action film. He went on to work with Hamshere on The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day, and in 2006 was requested as unit photographer for Daniel Craig's first outing as Bond in Casino Royale.

He joined the SMPSP in 2007 and has taken part in several of its exhibitions. Since Captain America: The First Avenger he has become a regular on Marvel productions, from Guardians of the Galaxy and Doctor Strange to Deadpool & Wolverine, The Fantastic Four: First Steps and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. His most recent work is Tomb Raider for Amazon MGM Studios

Beyond action, his discreet manner on set has made him a trusted choice across genres, including Clint Eastwood's Hereafter, the Wachowskis and Tom Tykwer's Cloud Atlas, Tim Burton's Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children and Dumbo, Rob Marshall's Mary Poppins Returns, Robert Zemeckis' Here and Working Title's Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy. He became a member of BAFTA in 2017.

Jay is based just outside London and in France, and is available for productions worldwide.
